Digital Citizenship
AISA Device Policy
To model appropriate behavior, we kindly ask staff to limit the use of personal devices during instructional time to urgent matters only. As role models, it’s important that we uphold the same expectations we set for our students, who are not permitted to bring or use personal devices at school. Let’s remain mindful of our device use and stay focused on fostering the best possible learning environment.
As part of our commitment to digital responsibility, AISA parents are also required to sign a Digital Citizenship agreement each year. This reinforces the shared responsibility between home and school in guiding students toward safe, respectful, and balanced technology use.
Digital Citizenship Tips:
1 - For Students
-
Protect your personal information – Never share your full name, address, phone number, or passwords online.
-
Think before you post – What you share online stays forever; make sure it reflects your best self.
-
Be kind and respectful – Treat others online the way you’d like to be treated.
-
Report unsafe behavior – If you see bullying, inappropriate content, or feel uncomfortable, tell a trusted adult.
-
Balance screen time – Take regular breaks and spend time offline with family, friends, and hobbies.
-
Check your sources – Not everything online is true; verify information before sharing it.
-
Respect copyright and creativity – Always give credit when using images, music, or work created by others.
-
Use strong passwords – Make them unique and don’t share them with friends.
2 - For Parents
-
Model good behavior – Children mirror adult online habits.
-
Talk regularly – Discuss apps, games, and online experiences with your child.
-
Set boundaries – Establish family rules for screen time and device use.
-
Stay involved – Know the platforms your child uses and encourage open communication.
