Homework Policy
AISA adopts a purposeful but light approach to homework for review and the establishment of a learning routine. Assigned work should focus on reinforcing class topics rather than introducing new material. In general, teachers may assign a brief period of reading each night and incomplete work from the day.
Suggested Daily Homework Times:
PK: 5-10 minutes (+ encouragement for parents to read aloud daily)
KG: 10-15 minutes (+ encouragement for parents to read aloud daily)
Grade 1-2: 15-20 minutes (+ encouragement for parents to read aloud daily)
Grades 3: 20-30 minutes
Grades 4: 30-40 minutes
Grades 5-8: 40-60 minutes (progressively higher for grades 7-8)
