AISA Specials

At AISA, our Specials classes play a vital role in developing well-rounded learners. Beyond core academics, these subjects inspire creativity, cultural understanding, digital literacy, and physical well-being. Each program is designed to nurture essential life skills and enrich every student’s educational experience.

French

At AISA, students participate in daily 45-minute French classes, tailored to their language proficiency. Instruction is divided into beginner and advanced levels, allowing every learner to progress confidently at their own pace.

We follow the Bien dit! program, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH), which is grounded in the five C’s of language learning: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.

Key features include:

  • Interactive Learning: A creative mix of instruction, technology, and real-world activities keeps students engaged and motivated.

  • Cultural Integration: Authentic materials, cultural notes, and even a feature-length film help students connect language to culture.

  • Adaptive Practice: The program provides personalized learning pathways, ensuring support and challenge at every level.

Through Bien dit!, students build language proficiency while deepening their appreciation for Francophone cultures.

Arabic

Arabic instruction at AISA is held twice a week, focusing on both Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Algerian Arabic. Students develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through interactive lessons that connect language learning to daily life and cultural heritage.

Our program blends academic rigor with practical communication, using songs, stories, and role-playing to make learning engaging and meaningful. Lessons are designed to help students understand the linguistic richness of the Arabic language while fostering pride in local and regional culture.

Art

Our Art program encourages students to explore their creativity, imagination, and self-expression. Through projects in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, students learn about different artistic styles, techniques, and cultural influences from around the world.

Art classes emphasize both skill development and creative freedom, helping students gain confidence in their artistic voice while learning to appreciate the visual arts as a powerful form of communication.

ICT (Information and Communication Technology)

In ICT, students gain essential digital literacy skills that prepare them for the modern world. The program covers topics such as coding, robotics, digital citizenship, online research, presentation design, and safe internet practices.

Modeled after best practices from international schools, our ICT curriculum blends practical projects with critical thinking, encouraging students to become innovative problem-solvers and responsible technology users. As students advance, they explore more complex concepts like data management, graphic design, and basic programming.

Physical Education (P.E.)

Physical Education at AISA focuses on promoting health, teamwork, and lifelong fitness habits. Through a variety of individual and team sports, students build coordination, strength, endurance, and leadership skills.

The P.E. curriculum emphasizes sportsmanship, cooperation, and perseverance, helping students understand the importance of physical activity for both mental and physical well-being. Activities range from traditional sports to fun fitness challenges, ensuring that every student stays active and engaged.

Library

Our Library program supports literacy, curiosity, and a love of reading. Students visit the library regularly to explore age-appropriate books, conduct research, and develop essential information skills.

Through guided reading, storytelling sessions, and research activities, the library becomes a space where students learn to think critically, ask questions, and discover the joy of reading for pleasure and learning.
