Message from AISA Director
Welcome to the American International School of Algiers (AISA)—it's a delight to meet you and your family.
AISA, found nestled on a beautiful villa campus in a quiet corner of Ben Aknoun, is Algeria's only school authorized to offer a U.S. curriculum taught by U.S. licensed educators – a program we have proudly delivered for nearly a decade. Since 2016, we have served students ages 3–14 (Pre-K to Grade 8), and in Fall 2026, we are expanding our offering to include High School (Grades 9–10), with Grades 11–12 to be added gradually, completing a full U.S. K–12 pathway for Algerian and international families. We welcome students from all nationalities and are very proud of our rich, international community, which currently includes students from 18 different countries.
At AISA, school is a place where children are known, challenged, and inspired every day. Our mission is to nurture curious, compassionate, and capable young people who think critically, communicate clearly, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
What does that look like day to day? Small classes led by dedicated and internationally experienced teachers; a strong foundation in literacy and mathematics; rich inquiry in science and social studies; and vibrant programs in the arts, technology, and athletics. Students take daily language classes, engage with the community through service-learning, and collaborate across grades to discuss and solve real-world problems together.
Equally important is our commitment to well-being and belonging. AISA is a joyful, safe, and inclusive community where every student is encouraged to bring their full self to school. We thoughtfully support neurodiverse learners and partner closely with families to ensure Whole Child support and development—because learning is strongest when home and school work hand in hand.
Looking ahead, we are strengthening our U.S.-curriculum program (Pre-K through Grade 8) and developing a pathway to high school beginning in Fall 2026. Through this growth, our promise remains constant: excellent teaching, a caring culture, and a clear focus on what’s best for students.
Whether you've known us or exploring AISA for the first time, I invite you to visit our campus, meet our teachers, and see learning in action. We would be honored to be part of your child’s educational journey.
Warmly,
Ariella Knight - AISA Director - director@aisalgiers.org
